What do I do (As opposed to Who am I?)

Health Specialist with a Top 3 US Insurer- I help small business owners and independent contractors obtain major medical, disability, and life insurance protection. In 2006, I was number 6 for production, out of 800 agents in the Western US.
I just recently finished acquiring all my state licensing in insurance. I had previously only held licences in life and health insurance, but am now licensed in property and casualty as well. My next educational venture is to obtain my securities licenses. Personal finance and planning is the niche that I am moving toward.

SpeakerLunch Facilitator- I co-founded and facilitate a private monthly speakers forum that invites successful entrepreneurs and CEO's to speak to emerging business leaders and newer entrepreneurs. We have a great roster of past and future speakers- be sure to check out our website.

Young Professionals of Corvallis- This is a new group that I am excited to be a part of. We just had our first event at Cloud9. Over 75 young professional from many different sectors attended. Meetings happen the last Tuesday of every month and starts at 5:30 in the evening.

Corvallis Benton Chamber Coalition- When I first started Rapid Refill Ink in Downtown Corvallis, we almost exclusively marketed ourselves through personal connections. Much of it occured through our chamber of commerce. I'm a big fan of the networking opportunites that the chamber provides for small businesses. As a fan, I've gotten fairly involved...

Chamber Ambassadors- We greet new businesses and do ribbon cutting ceremonies. It's a good chance to get to know new people in the community.

Government Affairs Committee- A committee of the Chamber Coalition. We meet to discuss business advocacy and crucial pieces of legislation we may need to get behind. We actively build relationships with local and regional government officials to hopefully influence policy-writing that is favorable to both the business community and the city at large.

Downtown Corvallis Association- I love being downtown. It's a nice place to do business. I served on the board of the DCA for a while as vice-president, and then stepped down once I sold my business. The DCA provides opportunities to connect with property owners and established business owners in the downtown district.

That's about it. Feel free to check out my website for my contact info or more details and photos.
Chris
